The patent applications have claims directed to several distinct inventions, including: (1) a compound for treating cancer containing a chemotherapeutic agent linked to an IGF-1 receptor ligand (e.g., IGF-1); (2) IGF coupled to a toxin; (3) IGF coupled to a therapeutic radionucleotide; and (4) a method of treating cancer involving co-administering IGF-1 (or a related compound) and a chemotherapeutic agent. The claims cover linkage of any chemotherapy agent to IGF-1.
